I bought an LG 55C7 OLED in November of 2017. Everything has been great until recently when I spotted a rectangle on the left third of the screen. It looked like some kind of burn-in, but that seemed very strange since I don't recall ever having any images on that part of the screen that would have caused it. The first time I noticed it was during an orange scene in Wonder Woman and now it's all I can see. It seems to show up in oranges, reds, some purple colors, but not so much in blue, green, or gray. Considering the TV was 3 months out of warranty I thought for sure that I was stuck with a bad panel.
Luckily this is not the case. I came across this video from Rtings.com which explains a bit about it and what needs to be done to fix it. It seems like there was (at the time) an unknown issue with how the TV's LUTs were installed from the factory after the OLED material has cooled down, and a reload of the LUTs is all that is necessary. There are plenty of reports of LG fixing this at no cost even if the TV is out of warranty like mine. I called LG and submitted a service ticket and they had me send in some pics (see attached). At the moment I am waiting to hear back from them to see what the next steps are.
I will post my progress with this issue as I find out more!
*NOTE - This seems to be an issue only on the 55" 2017 OLEDs
